I think you made a careless error of your own here when you interchanged QS and US.  It should have read "a careless error of writing US (Son) rather than QS (God)" since some of the earliest MSS exhibit the reading QS (p66 and p75).  It is also the lectio difficilior.  The change to US can be accounted for by assimilation to other passages.
