[B-Greek] Jn 1:1 - Alternate Reading?

That's what that English translation of the ANF says, but if Eusebius and  
Irenaeus are quoting the Greek of John's Gospel, then the same question arises  
with respect to Greek John 1:1c:
 
Is it definite, indefinite, or qualitative?
 
And obviously, respected grammarians do not agree on this matter.
 
And I think that in quoting the philosophy of the ANF's, we are letting the  
theological horse ride out of the stall again....
