[B-Greek] Question regarding embedding SPIonic Font

That is indeed an old post. Since then unicode has become more or less the standard since it doesn't rely on one of 50,000 different arrangements for using the ASCII codes. Each language has its own area and it doesn't matter which unicode font you use so long as it covers the language area you are dealing with. I would suggest that you might try one of the FREE unicode fonts available such as gentium, cardo, galilee, Titus Cyberbit Basic, etc. As regards embedding, I haven't the foggiest idea what is involved, but if the font is freely available via the internet, as these are, then the reader should be able to download his own font without difficulty.

Subject: [B-Greek] Question regarding embedding SPIonic Font

Dear Madam,

I found an old post of yours regarding the embedding of SPIonic on the web:
http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2001-August/018151.html

I use SPIonic myself, and it embeds well. My problem is that it is not possible to get the font displayed in the search function of Acrobat Reader (the same happens with Linguist Software's Semitic Transliterator.) On the other hand, Arabic fonts display well, and the search results in extended search are displayed correctly.

Do have any idea what might be the reason for this problem?

Thank you very much in advance
