I am responding to a B-Greek message sent December 8 10:57:49 EST 2004 by
Ron Minton who had answered a query from Raymond Custer who was searching
for the date of the oldest extant Greek dictionary where at least more than
one page has survived. I am in possession of a Lexicon Graecolatinum
printed by Ioannes Valderus in Basel Switzerland in September 1537. It has
a Greek-Latin lexicon portion of 1,910 numbered pages followed by about 100
unnumbered pages concerning syntax, grammar, Greek dialects, mathematics and
other areas that I cannot decipher, having forgotten most of my high school
Latin and knowing no Greek). I am searching for information about the book
and its source and would gladly share any information in the book with
anyone who has interest.
