I don't know if this would violate list protocol, but if the moderators are willing, if you submitted some of the Latin headings and descriptions, maybe folks on the list could help. Many of us have a bit of Latin with our Greek...
Otherwise, maybe list members could respond privately.
Let me suggest that this sounds like a valuable rare book, so that you want to take appropriate measure to protect and preserve it. You might also want to find a reliable (that adjective should be in the attributive position!) rare book dealer who is able to give an evaluation of its condition and worth.
