Doubtless, George Somsel will tell you to go electronic :)

Personally, I feel it depends on what volumes they are. If they are
items you will only use as reference, and not too often, then go
electronic. If they are volumes you will actually read and refer to,
paper is still superior. 

Especially for grammars and lexica, I would strongly encourage you to
stay with paper. The main reason for that is that you will learn far
more on your way to finding what you were looking for. That is the
biggest loss with electronic, you always end up where you want to go and
don't get the scan of the bigger picture. Your knowledge will be of that
article, but not of the ones on each side of it, or the page before...

Of course, the best of all possible worlds would be to have both :)
