[B-Greek] On voice

A recent comment on 'voice' has led to this question. Will the following
definitions be a good way of understanding 'one' of the main semantics of
voice:
Active: Subject performs (directly participates in) action
Passive: Subject receives action
Middle: Subject both performs (participates, directly or
indirectly/causitive) and receives action
Are there more encompassing definitions that would be better to learn at
first? I didn't want definitions that were way too technical to begin with.
I'm not overly concerned either that there will be 'exceptions' to the above
definitions.
