Friends,
My question pertains to the τοῦ in Galatians 3:23: "Πρὸ τοῦ δὲ ἐλθεῖν τὴν πίστιν ὑπὸ νόμον ἐφρουρούμεθα συγκλειόμενοι εἰς τὴν μέλλουσαν πίστιν ἀποκαλυφθῆναι," What is its function here in this sentence? Does it perhaps refer to Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ
of the previous verse? Is the phrase τοῦ δὲ ἐλθεῖν τὴν πίστιν a companion or variation or referent to ἐκ πίστεως Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ? I hope my question is clear and my readable. Thanks.
