this is so nicely done that it deserves a confirming Amen.
I was in the middle of reading a Plutarchian description of some obscure
general when my morning readings were rudely (smiile: irony)
interrupted by these apostolic Fathers. The layout is clean, clear and
inviting. Page wraps have been carefully planned, and the two different
numbering systems both appear at the top of the page. "leading", the
whitespace between lines, is comfortable, probably resulting from
the clarity of the font.
I am normally ambivalent toward golden ribbon bookmarkers,
but it is useful for holding back an English page.
the superthin paper (1000 ppi) is sufficiently opaque, yet the thinness
means that the whole book fits in the hand for true
'one-handed reading',
a delightful characteristic for 'lying on one's back looking up'.
We need to thank both Michael Holmes and James Ernest
(who handled this for Baker Academic) for their dedication
and commitment to produce such a well-designed volume.
Some of you may think that having an electronic version
is enough. electronic is great for searching. But you do want to read
and savor the language and map the thoughts of these documents.
For that you will gladly pay whatever you can to get one of these
hard copies.
Light, portable, readable, reliable, and capable of transforming
a Thanksgiving (US) into a feast.
