[B-Greek] Lexical entries and "final meaning" - translation vs. understanding

I think he is referring to the fact that beginners tend to look for glosses that appear to match what they suppose the meaning should be (based on whatever translation they use) rather than reviewing the usages cited in BDAG in various contexts and other material which would give them a better understanding of the word.  Once they get beyond that stage then BDAG is hard to beat -- which is obviously the case since no other lexicon beats it for NT use.
