BDAG defines BDELUGMA as as:
1) something disgusting that arouses wrath, 'loathsome thing'
2) "something that is totally defiling, 'abomination, pollutant'
The explanations that follow focus more on things that are detestable to God
(e.g., things connected with a polytheistic cult, or desecrating the holy
place, or something that is to be abhorred)
