While BDAG identifies the usage in this passage as an act rather than a thought (ποιεῖν β. καὶ ψεῦδος [POIEIN B. KAI YEUDOS] practice someth.foul or false21:27) and BDAG's judgment is not to be lightly dismissed, this does not carve such a judgment in stone.  It is interesting that the term βδέλυγμα [BDELUGMA] is used 7 times in the LXX
.
Leviticus 18:27
Leviticus 20:13
Isaiah 44:19
Jeremiah 11:15
Jeremiah 39:35
Jeremiah 51:22
Ezekiel 7:20
.
In each case it seems that an action is envisioned rather than a thought.  I don't see why the CEV would render it thus.

Subject: [B-Greek] bdelugmos in Rev 21:27 CEV

In Revelation 21:27 the CEV translates "ho poiwn bdelugma" as
"dirty-minded." I've been digging around in lexicons and commentaries and so
far haven't found the reason for that particular translation. The CEV is the
translation we use with our middle school program, so I need to understand
how to explain this passage.
