That's not a bad idea. I learned to read and understand the Authorized Version (AKA: King Jimmie) from my youth [Father William replied …]. I can understand it without difficulty as well as Shakespeare, Marlowe and even Chaucer. Once you learn the more difficult the rest is relatively easy. If you can do well in the competitive high jump, jumping a 4 ft fence is easy. Besides, NT Greek (or Koine) doesn't have the variety you will find in Classical Greek. Something you may encounter once in the NT can be found more frequently in the Classical texts.
