Point of order, Hugh!
I wasn't talking about American English: I was talking about English.
I don't think learning American English would be a good beginning for
learning to talk proper like what us Aussies do naturally ...

Someone made the comment a while back that thinking you can read Greek if
you can only read the NT, is like saying you can read English when you've
only ever read Pride and Prejudice.
[I acknowledge my hypocrisy here, because I can only read bits of the NT
myself, so far.]
