Thanks to all of you who were gracious with my ridiculous question--that
is what happens when I write something at midnight. Someone kindly
e-mailed me off-list to point out that there is no agreement issue with
a modifying genitive noun, which of course is absolutely correct--what
was I thinking?
That foolishness aside, any thoughts on how to discern what ψεύδους
YEUDOUS is related to? My kind advisor wrote: "I think YEUDOUS could be
attached to both SHMEIOIS KAI TERASIN which can function as a unit."
This makes good sense to me and is reflected in the ESV and the RSV. My
benefactor continued, "About DUNAMEI that is a hard call. It is
possible." This is really what occasioned my question. Many modern
English translations reflect this (CJB, NIV, NJB, NLT, CSB). but it
seems a little strained to me. Is it?
