  Thanks.  On #2, yes I know it's an articular infinitive that shows purpose. I'm trying to decide whether it goes with what precedes it or what comes after it or both (which I think unlikely on general principles that each clause should have its own verb/ participle, infinitive, etc.). Whichever we decide, is that based on a "rule" or just what seems reasonable?
