For depth & detail NIGTC is is always good, as is ICC.
Matthew: Nolland, Allen, Davies & Allison, R. T. France, & Hagner.
Mark: R. T. France is tops, followed by the two WBC volumes. I particularly like Cranfield's Cambridge volume.
Luke: I. Howard Marshall's is my favorite with Nolland, Bock & Plummer's old volume pulling up the rear
John: C. K. Barrett hands down.
Acts: C. K. Barrett hands down. F. F. Bruce is good too though.
Romans: Cranfield, Moo, Jewett, & Dunn
1 Cor: Thiselton, Fee, & Barrett
2 Cor: Murray Harris, Thrall, Barrett
Galatians: F. F. Bruce (NIGTC), Bruce Longenecker (WBC), & Lightfoot
Ephesians: Andrew T. Lincoln - some will say O'Brien, & Harold Hoehner have surpassed Lincoln, but they're wrong. O'Brien doesn't so much focus on the Greek and Hoehner is bloated.
Philippians: Moises Silva & O'Brien - Silva is short but incredibly insightful, Lightfoot
Colossians: Lightfoot, O'Brien, & Dunn - there's also a new ICC volume by someone I can't remember right now.
1-2 Thess: Malherbe & Wanamaker
Pastorals: I Howard Marshall, Philip Towner, Mounce, & Luke Timothy Johnson
Hebrews, Ellingsworth is the only one I've looked at, but there are several other big names - check Amazon.
James: Peter H. Davids
Peter & Jude: Karen Jobes, Peter H. Davids
1-3 John: Smalley is great, Brown continues to be good too, as is Westcott & A. E. Brooke
Revelation: Smalley, Beale, Aune, Osborne, & Charles.

Subject: [B-Greek] List of Best Greek Commentaries on NT Books
I'm wondering if anyone keeps a list of the best commentaries for various books of the NT which deal with the Greek text. This could be either on an entry level (such as Baugh's 1st John Reader) or a high profile commentary such as the Word Biblical Commentary 51 by Stephen Smally on 1 John.. I have wasted countless hours researching what the best commentary which helps one understand the Greek text for various NT books. What is the best list out there? Does anyone keep one which is focused only on the Greek text and not on theology, homiletics, layman topics or modern application. All such commentaries are needed, but when a person is focusing on learning the ins and outs of a specific author, they need "meat."
