Not really. NIGTC is a mixed bag. Some are good some are not.
1 Cor: Thiselton, Rev. Beal, are two examples of commentaries which
spend most of their time talking about english translations. Very
disappointing if you are looking for a greek text commentary, you will
need to look elsewhere. Fee's NICNT 1Cor has more substance than
Thiselton which has loads of references to secondary literature but
little discussion of linguistic issues. At this point in time when
everyone has bible software I cannot understand why anyone thinks it
is worth wasting space in a commentary listing different english
translations. That information is already available.
ICC, same issue. Quality is all over the map. Some of the older works
are good. Some of the newer works are good. Some of the works are over
rated, like Romans by Cranfield. It's worth looking into but certainly
not a stellar work by todays standards.
enough of that, no everyone else can air opinion.
