Temporal but generalizing; but I think I'd have to say that it is implicitly
conditional, that "whenever" = "if at any time."
It's curious to me that hHNIKA appears only 2x in the GNT and in these
two verses, while hOTAN appears 23x in the Pauline corpus. On the other
hand, hHNIKA is fairly common in the LXX (102x).
