But Mark, we DO have such a textbook and have had it for decades. It's
"The Elements of New Testament Greek" in successive editions by Nunn,
Wenham and Duff. Its long insistence on no accents has either been
bitterly opposed or more often ignored. Its impact on Greek orthography
has been almost nil. In contrast, this text vigorously upholds all the
other orthographic conventions: iota subscript, diaeresis and especially
BOTH breathing marks.

Carl is right. We'll sooner be stopped on our highways, here in the U.S.,
for driving kilometers per hour beyond the posted limit than we'll ever
see any change in Greek orthographical convention.
