I can't believe I started this interminable chatterchain!

I suspect that the citation should be "Disgustandibus non deputandum"
-- loosely, "Don't let these nasty people put you down."
Sorta like, "Illegitimis non carborundum," pidgen-Latin widely known as
"Don't let the bastards grind you down."
Anyhow, expressions of that principle of respect for personal preferences in
the Greek tradition might include:
(a) from Thucydides, 2.37.2 (Pericles' Funeral Speech on Athenian culture):
[ELEUQERWS DE TA TE PROS TO KOINON POLITEUOMEN KAI ES THN PROS ALLHLOUS TWN KAQ' hHMERAN EPITHDEUMATWN hUPOYIAN, OU DI' ORGHS TON PELAS, EI KAQ' hHDONHN TI DRAI, ECONTES, OUDE AZHMIOUS MEN, LUPHRAS DE THI OYEI ACQHDONAS PROSTIQEMENOI.]
Something like, "Our political system is open to all and we don't get upset at people making their own choices or give them nasty looks that hurt their feelings even if they do no actual harm."
(b) from Romans 14:13-14 (N.B.: wrenched, of course, from context -- as prooftexts so often are):
[MHKETI OUN ALLHLOUS KRINWMEN· ALLA TOUTO KRINATE MALLON, TO MH TIQENAI PROSKOMMA TWi ADELFWi H SKANDALON. 14 OIDA KAI PEPEISMAI EN KURIWi IHSOU hOTI OUDEN KOINON DI' hEAUTOU, EI MH TWi LOGIZOMENWi TI KOINON EINAI, EKEINWi KOINON.]
Something like, "Let's not be judgmental about each other; rather, let's not put obstacles in the way of our fellow-believer; my honest opinion in Christ is that nothing is unkosher unless an individual deems it to be unkosher."
