  ho gar katergszomai ou ginosko

I am currently doing a study in Romans. In 7:15 Paul says, "I do not
understand what I do" (NIV). In his commentary on Romans
http://www.ccel.org/ccel/newell/romans.viii.html, William R. Newell
argues that ginosko has broad meaning and that in this context the word
means "approve".

I have searched all my resources and have been unable to find "approve"
as an acceptable translation for "ginosko". Am I missing something here?
