<< Would someone tell me if the GS rule applies to Rev. 1:9?
Or is it nullified by being a triplet, with 2 kai's?
If it is not, how do we make sense of it?
The GS construction is really only applicable in cases involving nouns of
personal description, which are not proper names (or equivalents), nor
plurals. There are other restrictions.
So, while you have two such nouns in the first part of Rev 1:9 (hO ADELPHOS
hUMWN KAI SUNKOINWNOS), THi QLIPSEI KAI BASILEIA KAI hUPOMONH does not qualify
as a GS construction. Context and use of language are important when trying to
understand this part of the text.
