In fact, I think the discussion now has clearly transcended the issues that
concern B-Greek. Please, let's steer clear of interpreting the gospel of
John as a whole or even the Johannine Prologue as a whole--despite the fact
that many of will very well agree that the whole of the Prologue and the
whole of John's gospel will have to be brought to bear upon what exactly an
assertion of the "pre-existence of the LOGOS" means. "Context is
everything--yes indeed"--and the context of the Johannine Prologue is
nothing less than the whole gospel, BUT this is not the forum for that
"johannine_literature@egroups.com" (which, being interpreted is: "Before
this discussion on B-Greek began, the Johannine-Literature list already
existed.") If you want to carry on the discussion of pre-existence of the
LOGOS and just what all the pre-existence of the LOGOS means, please take
it over there, but this is not the place for it. I don't think it can be
discussed without the participants sharing some hermeneutical assumptions
and probably some theological assumptions as well. Here the legitimate
boundaries of discussion are: how may the Greek phrasing of a particular
passage legitimately be understood. Granted, the IMPLICATIONS of answers to
that question extend ever further. In this forum, however, we stop at that
