General Suggestions/Comments:
- Why is there 3., 4., 5., and 6. but no 1., or 2.? Shouldn't Examples 1,
2, 3, and 4 be named respectively?
- When the user comes to the module at first glance, there should be something
to catch their eye such as a picture, or larger /colored text. I also suggest
renaming the first page from 'abstract' to something more akin to the start
of a module. However, the rest of the module is very well-developed, and
is extremely thorough. It is definitely time for a version upgrade! Contained
in the following feedback you will find minor suggestions as to how to get
your module closer to version 1.0. Overall excellent progress!
Page-Specific Suggestions:
- Pages where there are no more than five sentences on a page should be
either elaborated on, or combined with another page.
- Ideas should be present on the 'concept' pages, discussed in the 'discover'
pages, linked to outside sites in the 'application' pages, brought up in
class in the 'collaborate' pages, and challenge the students with work on
the 'practice' pages.
- I strongly suggest a summary for this module.
- Excellent work with the crib sheet!
- The library and map must be developed as well.
Use of Alternate Media
- It is always a good idea to include outside sites of related material
whenever possible. The 'applications' option in the top navigation bar accommodates
to this idea very well.
HTML Programmer Notes
Java Programmer Notes
- Excellent applets!! I encourage more of these in similar locations. It
seems as thought the applets are strong at the beginning of the module,
but lower in frequency towards the end.
Graphics Notes
- There should be more graphics in this module besides the figures presented.
I suggest developing icons to use as bullets in ordered and/or unordered
lists. Any place a graphic can be added is a good idea. Some suggestions
are:
- Module Home
- Objectives
- Workshop
- 4. and 5. problems
Platform/Browser-Specific Problems
- Netscape Communicator
- Some applets did not load using this browser.
- Internet Explorer
