    Content/Overall Organization

    General Suggestions/Comments:
    • Overall this module was very well organized, with all the key points presented excellently.
    • I was impressed by the mixing applets!
    • The applets all of the Discover pages under Mixing and Transport are also on the respective Practice pages. The Discover applets as well as the text explaining them should be removed. The java programmer will be explained this suggestion as well.
    • In the last alpha test feedback from Ann Navin, it was suggested to move the exercises from the Discover section to the Practice section. I also suggest this as it is what the Practice section was created for.
    • The navigation bar:
      • The heading New Stuff should be changed to something more professional sounding.
      • There are fifteen different new categories, when there should be between two and five. Please break the "new stuff" down into three to five subcategories.

    Page-Specific Suggestions:

    • Core Conservation: There is no information under the sections titled "Boundary" and "Initial Conditions".
    • Transport Across a Membrane: The bottom of this page has several errors. There are one too many DISCOVER buttons which lead to the same site containing an incomplete applet (The java programmer will be explained of the incomplete applet). The five categories of the top navigation bar should be used in this case. The discover link should be activated, and it's page should contain the completed applet. Likewise, the practice link should be activated, and its page should contain the exercises.
    • Unsteady Transport Across a Membrane: The line, "(Jon, can you supply values (L,D) here for an example?)" appears in red at the bottom of the page. There are obviously some changes that need to be made here.

    Use of Alternate Media

    • There are a great deal of web sites linked to this module in order to support the idea of Mass Transport. This interactivity will definitely help users to understand the material, and also how important the application of it is.

    HTML Programmer Notes

    • Iterative Mixing Concepts: derive: The third link does not open.
    • Core Conservation: The two links in red lead to nowhere.

    Java Programmer Notes

    • The applets on all of the Discover pages under Mixing and Transport are also on the respective Practice pages. The Discover applets as well as the text explaining them should be removed. The head of the module will be explained this suggestion as well.
    • In several derive applets there is a link to another derive applet. When clicking on this link, a new window should open. Otherwise, when the DONE button is pushed, the window closes, and the user cannot go back to the first derive applet.
    • Unsteady Transport Across a Membrane: Two of the derive pages (click here and here) do not open error free. All programmers will be made aware of these errors.

    Graphics Notes

    • Excellent graphic work, I found no errors!

    Platform/Browser-Specific Problems

    • Netscape Communicator:
      • None
    • Internet Explorer:
      • None
