The description above really makes me think that mine must have come 
mis-labeled 8..(    It was NOT very small - more like a 2.5-3" , yellow, 
flattened oval apple, with red cheek, not especially juicy, not especially 
tasty.
Oh, well.  Guess I can always use it as a repository for multiple 
varieties, as it's a vigorous tree with good anchorage and reasonable 
branch structure.
