Re: [nafex] Cherry Prinsepia (princepia sinensis)



It's related to Prunus and has a fruit that looks like a small black cherry.
 The flavor (I'm told) is very much like cherry.  There isn't a lot of flesh
and the seed looks like a cherry pit with bumps all over it.  It's something
that might respond to some serious breeding to select types that have more
flesh.  The plant is a shrub with light green leaves that are long
lanceolate (like the head of an old lance) and it has small yellow flowers.
