I do have LCE in mind and have an affordable design on paper. It is a good =
alternative for a grower with large volumes of compost. In my new neighborh=
ood, which is predominantly dairy/hay/alfalfa operations the farmers pile u=
p the stable cleanings where generally the pile just sits for a time withou=
t turning. This is then mixed with water into large tanks and then spread o=
n the fields or else it is delivered by irrigation gun. I can attest to the=
foul odor indicating that this is not composted (aerobically) but the soil=
handles it because it is spread on the surface rather than mixed into the =
soil. The surface microbes rapidly degrade the organic matter into plant av=
ailable nutrient. The result is bumper crops of organic hay to feed the cow=
s.
