Yes, excellent. I agree with this.

BUT there is an additional complication. In the world of microbiology the =
soccer player may turn into a violinist but yet phenotypically appear the s=
ame in the microscope. In other words the functional genes work differentl=
y in different environments.

The phenotypic appearance does not define the functional or metabolic activ=
ities of microbes.

This is where it is important to consider the species concept and where def=
initions of species break down. Using common phrases used here: the "bad mi=
crobes" can turn to "good microbes" and visa versa. As a microbial ecologi=
st the terms good and bad microbiology doesn't work.

May I ask what evidence there is for not adding food sources to "finished" =
tea? And may I also ask what defines "finished"?

I understand people to have a wealth of experience looking at microscopes, =
and I respect that, we do as well. But very rarely do I see anyone connect =
this microscope reality with their effects on growing plants. That's the po=
int in the end, right? How are we so sure we know when something is "finish=
ed" when we have no biological baseline of what it "should" be?

For instance, I just got off the phone with a humic acid distributor who wo=
rks globally from Germany. We had a very interesting conversation about hum=
ic acids in regards to having no baseline. There is no objective way to say=
 one is better than the other except results considering it depends on oxid=
ization, rate of oxidization, source material, binding sites (COOH, OH), fu=
lvic:humic ratio, etc. And all humic molecules are not the same, even the o=
ne structured similarly.

This is even more complicated and true with microbes. One cannot measure tr=
ue diversity, or more importantly strength or ability, of microbes under a =
microscope. We're all humans, and one of us may be the most accomplished so=
ccer player (N cycler) on the planet, but we cannot tell that through a con=
versation or by looking at the individual. This ability is discounted when =
we look materialistically through a microscope. This "strength and ability"=
 is one of the factors that defines BioDynamic composts and the organisms a=
ssociated.

We have used compost tea brewed for over 4 months perpetually by adding hum=
us, catalysts, and food sources daily with spectacular results. Granted, it=
 may not be perfect, but, again, what does "perfect" mean if we are not att=
aching what we are telling ourselves to the results of growing plants?

Be a farmer, start a garden.
