Subject: [compost_tea] Impact of water controller Soft Wave Technology?
Hi, I've been lurking for a while and am rather new to compost tea, just
started with a bucket and some air stones a few months ago.
At a garage sale one of our neighbors showed up and he sells these $599
water treatment sleeves.
We're on well water here and calcium buildup is of course a problem. He
showed us the unit and you just wrap it around the pipe and plug it in (uses
about 7 watts). Calcium is supposedly changed through the frequency applied
to the water so that it will no longer stick and it is even supposed to
dissolve existing buildup.
The lady who had the garage sale does house cleaning and she was adamant
that it works as advertised as she never needs to use pumice in the house
with this gadget.
He attached it to her water pipe and she served several treated and
untreated samples for testing. I could definitely taste the difference, but
very hard to describe. I have lots of fillings in my teeth and maybe that's
why it almost tasted metallic.
We talked about gardening and he claimed that it changes calcium so that
plants can absorb it.
Here is a link to his site:

<
http://www.positivewatertechnologies.com/> !products -- but not a lot of
info on how it works.
Is this for real?
And why is it so expensive? It just doesn't look like $599.
Appreciate your insights on this thing. It's a lot of money, but if it works
as advertised, might be worth it (I'm sure he'd give a discount too) as
we're now getting a greenhouse and expanding our gardens.
Thanks,
Christine
