I personally never use Leachate or the anaerobic castings from the bottom o=
f worm bins for tea (use as a soil conditioner rather). Under a microscope =
I have found the anaerobic levels to have very few microbes in them. Tea ma=
king for aphid & other pest repelling (leaf spray), I use the aerobic layer=
just under the main group of worms (about 3" under the surface). It has lo=
ads more living organisms you just have to pick out the odd worm.

p.s. Half way through making my first automated flowthrough commertial w=
orm bin - 10ft x 4ft

Anyway, I mixed them so each part would get air, and it smelled bad at fi=
rst, which is a great indicator for anaerobic. After a couple of days, it s=
tarted to smell earthy and healthier. Just make sure you let it aereate for=
awhile before you make compost tea out of it or put it on plants.
