A good way to prove what the effects of applying municipal water to the lea=
ves might be to, check the microbial activity under the scope after the app=
lication of the compost tea, and then again after watering with municipal w=
ater.

Subject: [compost_tea] Chlorine in Municipal Water

I use only municipal water in my worm bins, compost, compost tea, tropical =
fish tanks & on the garden.

For compost tea I have three white plastic 20 litre containers that I leave=
in the sun for a day (or longer) I then place in the brewer/bubbler with a=
small handful of compost aerate for a night then continue as per normal th=
e following day. No prob (under microscope) teaming with microbes in 24hrs.

I do also wonder though, the effect of direct spraying municipal water on l=
eaves - all the more reason to spray with compost tea on a REGULAR basis. R=
egrettably I only get round to it once every couple of months.

In discussing this with others, it was put forward that many home gardeners=
have been producing wonderful produce for years with hand watering using m=
unicipal water. Therein lies my dilemma, we know for a fact that chlorine =
kills the microbes, yet we see many home gardeners producing successful cro=
ps.
