In many cases a product is also used in human / animal nutrition
and 'studies' may have more demanding eyes upon them.
Fulvic Acid is one such product along with Fish and Kelp
that came up a while back. I'll use the fish example
since it's plain and straight forward.

Any of it can become a long journey of study. In the case of Fish on the Ea=
st Coast it seems to make sense to study the actual fish being
used even before the methods. In a couple of cases that turns out to be Me=
nhadden and Dogfish. (A complete examination of the humic source material i=
s comparible in importance.)

The liquid fish claiming to the most natural claims to jack the acid up to =
3.84 ounces per gallon. I've seen it come out as low as a
pH of 2.8 over the years. Some people throw around a lot of words
like enzymes, hormones, amino acids, etc. but the pH is such a powerful and=
fundilmental marker that some of these things get wiped out or twisted bef=
ore you can use the product.
There seems to be just a few exceptions to this.

Here's how Worthington talks about enzymes and pH plainly
and simply.

<snip>

Extremely high or low pH values generally result in complete loss of activi=
ty for most enzymes. pH is also a factor in the stability of enzymes. As wi=
th activity, for each enzyme there is also a region of pH optimal stability=
.
