One can always ask but as far as I know most of the
Soluble Humates need to be extracted with a strong base
to free specially fulvic acid from the carbonaceous matrix.
I don´t think that water alone has that capability.
Besides, what I had the opportunity to notice is that every
time I bring this issue forward with the manufacturers they
tend to give ellusive answers fearing that I would “steal” their
technology. Fulvic and Humic acid technology extraction is available
elsewhere and there is no need for this unjustified fear.
Some companies even have russian “scientists” working for them
and they seem to make a marketing point out of it (Terravita)
In my humble oppinion there is just too much BS involved in all this
Soluble Humate industry.
>From all the companies I delt with ( I import Soluble Humates by the
ton)
a Canadian company was the most serious one dealing with this issue.
Most of them in the US are backyard business.

Hi Lloyd -

Good point! Use the foliar rate. Tom Piatkowski always has a good
point too - be very careful about the actual concentration of humic acid
in any product. Sometimes the price seems cheaper, but it's only
because the product is more dilute.

It is better to use humic acid that has been extracted using hot water,
or cold water, than the strong acids and bases. So always ask.

We work with a product in Australia, made by a company called Tryton,
that is amazing fungal food, thick, rich humic materials, made from worm
compost and extracted with water in a special process. It is amazing
material and grows fantastic fungi. I hope they bring this technology
to the US!
