Re: [compost_tea] Re: CT Naming, NOP & Manure
Hi Kirk -
So instead of brewing we do aerating. But how do you say "The brew can be
used..." but substitute aeration in there? I'm sorry, I need some help.
The tea was brewed.... The tea was aerated.... OK, I can see that.
Substitute aeration for brewing.
Does that meet everyone's approval?
"Aerated compost tea" - doesn't get rid of the perception of steeping with
heated water.
----------
I have heard NOTHING about reconvening the Compost Task Force.
No word on altering the definition of "raw" versus what is meant by
processed. Most growers have decided that animal processing fits the
definition. Sigh.
Those of you who know people on the NOSB, please contact them and ask what's
going on? But then, D.C. hasn't really started up again. State of the Union
has to happen first, I think.
We have a little bit of play going on with the Maine Organic Farmers and
Growers Assoc. Seems someone there jumped the gun and inserted the
recommendation from the Compost Task Force into their regs without waiting
for the NOSB to actually approve the Task Force's recommendations. So now
MOFGA has regs that do not match anyone else's in the country, since the NOSB
did not implement the Compost Task Force's recommendation(s).
Interesting.
