[compost_tea] Notes regarding SFI test reports

About brewer reports - I found it a bit confusing to find the information.  Clicking on the top choice brough down a big page.  by scrolling over and down the data appeared.   You probably knew how.  It's all mystry to this me.

This is Friday but it couldn't be done on Sunday.  If this reads like advertising please wait till Sunday to read it.  There have been many requests for straight from SFI reports on Bob's brewers.  The delay was because I didn't know how to do a report except where I took the data and transcribed it with reduced  print details but also with the potential of my adjusting the numbers.   So I asked  SFI to publish some reports directly.  No not all of them but several.  .

For anyone who wants to evaluate the reports here are some notes that may make the reports meaningful   The notes relate to the report numbers:

Report # 93181 93182 compares Bob's with our Microbrewer, same compost, same nutrients  recommended amount of compost in each.  12 lbs, BB, 20 in MB

Report # 98281.93282  same comparisson same rules.

Report # 94276   Typical of the compost being used in all tests.  While typical we know the microbes in the compost varies from shovel to shovel as well as day to day.

Report # 94608 - typical test from the 50 gallon brew.                                            Report #94609 - typical report from the same "Bob's brew driver but now driving 250 gallons.  The compost and nutrients used in the 250g tank was doubled from the 50 gallon tank.  While the microbes per liter are lower in the 250g tank the gross product is more than double in the 250g than in the 50g tanks.  In some situations the total number of microbes generated may be more important than the concentration.  Since the O2 remained high in both situations the 250g system  may be able to take higher amounts of compost and nutrients to further increasl the product.  Capacity is probably a function of air and the way it is applied.

This is also true in the 50g brew.  O2 levels were always in the high 6 or higher so heavier feeding may be practical to bring up all numbers.  Some other brewers are producing higher concentrations than we have developed. All of the brews tested here were with compost, molasses and kelp and at low levels. No fish, Alaska Humis or Humic Acid or other items being considered for higher fungal production.  New test runs will attempt with heavier feeding to bring the concentration up.

Report # 95190  BB1-2-3-4  1,2 3 were 50 gallons, 4 was 250 gallons.  The sample was some of each mixed as the product went to our applications tank.  An average.   Can't say that the tests are world beaters. The tea was effective in use.  I am  going to try for higher numbers.

If this type report is of interest to members of the TEA group I will ask SFI to make similar reports from time to time in future testing.  Please let me know if these reports are of interest to any of the group..  Bob.  .
