Several factors involved in your question.
First, how compacted is the soil? Take a metal rod and push into the soil. How far can you push the rod easily? Can you push with some force and get deeper? How deep, and how much force? A slight lean, concentrated effort, or grunting? When do you get to the "can't push it in any further" depth?
When you pick up the clay soil and play with it in your hands, does it ball up easily? Please make sure the soil is at least 50% moisture. Put the ball between your hands, and roll the ball into a long worm. How long does the worm get before it finally breaks of it's own accord? This will tell me Ca:Mg ratio.
The sheep manure - composted? Aged? Mixed with anything? What have the sheep been fed?
To what depth are you going to till?
Give me some idea of what you are doing, and I'll be able to answer better.
