On the Gardener's Gold Compost Tea Kit

Thanks, Frank, for the pointer. I found using keywords Dennis suggested
with the site search function worked. Great site! How about the claims?
Sounds like they have some really good compost, anyway, and claims are
rational.

Other concern I have besides cleanability is closed container, though. Why
would you want to restrict air access? Super idea for $25, but the pump
seems way small and "innoculant" way too expensive, also. Per ca-ca Duffy
stuff, seems clear closed containers are not a good idea.

IF the pump has enough uumph and the compost and nutrient packs are as good
as they sound, this could be a good kit to get for a 5 gallon open bucket,
hmm? Teeny pump doesn't seem enough though. Couldn't figure out what the
aerator was, either. And $13/small batch for nutrients is way too much,
imo.

Could it be in a closed container, air added with good compost and low
nutrients, you could make a decent tea? Dunno, but I'm skeptical. And
clearly you can't use this container more than a few times.

Can container back pressure add to oxygen uptake? How does that comport
with over-saturation issues? A closed container does not seem like a good
idea but it could be container pressure might support beneficial oxygen
conditions under aeration, I suppose. Any thoughts on that? Seems like a
more delicate balance than ACT requires.

Don't want to dump on this, but I guess I have. Gardens Alive folks need to
try again, imo. Compost tea isn't cheap or easy. Shouldn't be expensive or
difficult, either. Good, safe and simple is a bit further on. In sight,
though, seems to me. Open containers, bigger pumps and less expensive
nutrients seem better. Their "gardeners gold" compost seems really good (do
they provide test data, too?). They have some great tools, and their heart
certainly seems to be in the right place. Great name, too.
