Hi Jeff -

How's the book coming?

How's your viewing scope doing?

Most fungal spores are fine to germinate and start to grow in the tea.  But mycorrhizal spores are NOT.  ANY pump will harm them, ONCE THEY HAVE GERMINATED.  Even being spun around, once they have germinated, will kill them.  As long as they stay as sproes, not germinated, they are fine.  But humic acid will cause them to germinate - and guess what is in most composts....

Having mycorrhizal spores germinate in the tea is not a good idea.

Other commercially available spores - no problem.

If someone bought mushroom spawn, and added that to the tea, I'd want them in at the end of the brew, since most of the basidiomycete fungi are just as "tender" as mycorrhizal fungi.  They just can't take being knocked around once they are out of the dormant phase.

OK?  Did I clear that up for you?  Do I need to explain again for folks?
