Hi Constance,

One thing you can do is to feed the bacteria by applying molasses at the
rate of 20 to 50 litres / ha, possible more depending on amount of nitrogen
applied, this will increase the bacteria in the soil and simultaniously will
block the nitrate in the bacteria own bodies.

Now, grapes need more fungal dominated tea, how the aplication of the
molassesis going to affect the balance in the soil I am not sure. I would
appreciate Dra Elaine's coments.
