In the midwest it is common to use limestone (calcium carbonate) to
offset the use of high salt fertilizers such as KCl, NH3, 28%N, D-A-
P, and other inorganic salts with high salt indexes.  Guess I better
go back to the texts and learn more about calcium carbonate being a
salt.  Calcium sulfate, I understand, is about neutral as a salt,
and calcium nitrate would be a salt. Maybe someone can save me some
time and explain this so I don't have to hunt up a book.  Thanks,
