To Judy and Jeff We returned the ACT "spent" compost to the pile and sprayed any avaiiable ACT on the pile believing it would increase the bio activity - at least near the surface. Never tested to prove our guess. At 165F incide the surface would be cooler. Has the farmer turned the pile and it stayed at 165F? Bob
A local farmer’s compost pile has been at 165º F for two weeks.
The pile is 4’ high and is about 8 cu. yards.
Appreciate any suggestions for how much ACT would be needed to
spray the compost pile after it cools down and what compost temperature
might be ideal for ACT application?
Thanks for any help,
Judi
