Share Grazing
I recently read an article in the "Stockman's Grass Farmer" about Share
Grazing and Share Milking in New Zealand, where an older farmer can pass on
his operation to a young person. The young person provides most of the
labor and slowly acquires the farm over a period of years.
I have found an older gentleman who has no heirs and would like to pass his
land and cattle on to me when he dies. Does anyone have knowledge of
arrangements that can help me work out an agreement with this gentleman? I
would like to be able to arrange some type of Share Grazing situation that
would allow him to pass the land down to me as time goes by, while allowing
both of us to participate in managment of the operation.
If you don't have specific info, a point in the right direction would be of
tremendous help.
