Announcing Exciting New US EPA Home Page

(My apologies for any cross-postings........................)

The United States Environmental Protection Agency has created a home
page designed to promote "Community-Based Environmental Protection" (CBEP).
CBEP is a policy framework within EPA that:

* addresses the environmental priorities and economic well-being of
communities;

*  facilitates partnerships and stakeholder involvement;

*  incorporates long-term ecosystem and human health concerns;

* highlights the positive correlation between economic prosperity and
environmental well-
    being; and,

* sustains biological diversity of ecosystems.

The main purpose of the homepage is to provide information to communities by
offering them
information about (and hot links to) local, national and international efforts
which address the above
issues.

Users should note that the homepage is relatively new and will be evolving
toward the development of
a comprehensive network of Community-based environmental protection activities
within EPA, as well
as within other related governmental and non-governmental organizations.
