ORGANIC FARMING / LAND OWNERSHIP OPPROTUNITY IN COSTA RICA

 Hello folks,

I recently bought a piece of land in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is part
of an organic farm that involves a handful of Organic growers -both
Tico and Gringo. Participation in any of these projects does not
require a person to locate in Costa Rica, although, if you chose to be
be DIRECTLY involved and put your hands on the project that would be
womderful.

The group has already had some success in growing and marketing
macadamia nuts, ginger and various medicinal herbs. We hope to expand
operations into more medicinal herbs as well as sundried fruits and
vegetables.

The genesis of our endeavors has been to provide land ownership
opportunities and participation in community based organic farming. An
additional feature is our activities in reforestation and
re-establishment of wildlife migration corridors. Costa Rica provides
an ideal environment for these activities. The country is very
receptive to folks who care about conservation and maintaining a
sustainable lifestyle. All these goals can be realized, while at the
same time providing an avenue for realistic long range profit.

We currently are focusing on two areas of the country - The semi-arid
region of Guanacaste and the more moist and mountainous regions of the
San Carlos area. Some of the crops that lend themselves to production
are macadamia nuts, ginger, melons, cashews, papaya, mango, neem,
tomatoes, various maedicinal herbs, culinary herbs, etc...etc...

One last important point. These projects are not for everyone. They
require that people involved be of a like mind and lifestyle who are
willing to work together, whether from a distance or with hands on.
This is an totally Organic venture that will requuire a collective
focus of thought and action. This doesn't mean that everyone will be
involved in the day to day operations. As I mentioned, full time
residency is not required. What it does mean is that all owners will be
involved in decision making and long range planning. All the projects
will require some investment in the development of infrastructure. All
costs will be discussed and must be agreed upon by all partners before
implementation. The bottom line is - we must share a community focus.
The opportunity to be involved in a project that has the ability to pay
for itself in a few years is there. Good management and participation
by all owners is all it will take for it to be a success.
