Eastern Europe is one of the most polluted places on earth. Years of
mismanagement and neglect have certainly taken their toll. Yes, children
and adults are dying in hospitals in Eastern Europe due to cancer. But
>from Chernobyl? No. The long range effects of that accident have passed.
They are dying from the toxins and pollutants in the air, water, and food
which is spewing from the coal and oil fired plants, as well as the
plastics and petrochemical factories, not to mention the pulp and paper
mills dumping their raw effluents into rivers... perhaps their diets
are not up to snuff...
Children are dying in Calcutta... is Chernobyl to blame? Adults are dying
in Southern California from cancer... is Chernobyl to blame? About
300 meters from my office, Canadian children in Toronto's hospital for
Sick Children are dying of leukemia and other cancers. Chernobyl? Next
door to my office stands a 25 storey, $400,000,000 hospital (the Princess
Margaret) which is devoted to the care and recovery of Ontario cancer
patients... they decided to build this thing BEFORE Chernobyl happened.
It is likely full now.
Prior to Chernobyl, millions of people died of cancer each year. After
Chernobyl, millions of people die of cancer each year. One hundred
years from now, millions of people will die of cancer each year.
So far, the death of every member of my immediate family (i.e., grand-
parents, great uncles, aunts, etc.) have been due to cancer. Historically,
my parents and I have a very good chance of getting cancer. Will I get
cancer because of Chernobyl just as my grandmother must have (she died
in 1993) but my gradfather didn't (he died in 1979).

Your insulting tone really hurts your credibility. I would recommend
you avoid insulting people if you wish to be taken seriously.
> Who paid you to write this message, poor boy ?
Again, your insulting tone does nothing but weaken your own arguments.
