How about a flame thrower? When I saw the patch of poison ivy at the
rear of my daughter's property, I thought I remembered a post about one
that gave the weed enough of a zap to kill it by boiling the water in
its tissues. I couldn't find that post but did find the following on
Deja News. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to find one. Tried Home
Depot and our local garden center, but no luck. Maybe someone on this
newsgroup will know where to get one.

Boiling water or a small flame thrower(honest, they make them for this
purpose) work well.
