GBlist: Variable speed drives

I am trying to learn about the best way to vary substantially the ventilation
air flow in a current project. It is possible that the central ventilation
system ( which includes enthalpic recovery and deep dehumidification, which is
why it is central and not distributed) will need to vary output from 9000 cfm
down to as low as 1500-2000 cfm.

1) Is this too much of a turn-down ratio to expect from a fan and still be
operating efficiently?

2) How does the efficiency of variable speed drives vary with such a high
turn-down ratio?

3) Does anyone have a manufacturer of VSDs who they particularly like?

Thanks
