What Is The National EMF InfoLine?

The EMF InfoLine was established to help the general public by providing accurate,
up-to-date and balanced information in response to questions on electric and magnetic
fields (EMF). The EMF InfoLine is a joint national project of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and the EMF Research and Information Dissemination (RAPID)
Program. Feedback from the National EMF InfoLine will help in the development of
future public information materials.

What Kind of Help Does the National EMF InfoLine Offer?

Hotline staff respond to EMF inquiries relating to both Extremely Low Frequency
(ELF) fields produced in the generation, distribution, and use of electricity and
radiofrequency (RF) fields from sources such as broadcast and communication
technologies and radars. Depending upon the inquiry, InfoLine staff may respond
directly, provide material by mail, or refer callers to federal or state government
organizations for more specific help. The National EMF InfoLine can respond to phone
inquiries in Spanish and many other languages.

Questions and Answers about EMF - Electric and Magnetic Fields Associated with
the Use of Electric Power. National Insitute of Environmental Health Sciences and the
U.S. Department of Energy for the EMF Research and Pubic Information Dissemination
(RAPID) Program. January 1995. DOE/EE-0040

This booklet provides some answers to common questions about the possible
health effect of EMFs. It defines some basic electical terms, describe EMFs, and
discusses recent scientific studies. It then describes what the government is doing to
address public concerns about EMFs. It then addresses questions people have about
their own exposure to EMFs. Lastly, it tells you about how to obtain more detailed
information about this issue.

Questions and Answers - EMF in the Workplace. National Institute for Occupational

The purpose of this booklet is to provide information about EMF exposure in the
workplace. The booklet describes what researchers have learned (and have yet to
